As with any new technology, training will help practitioners save time and avoid aggravation. Self-study with training slides can't take the place of a live, interactive course, but it is much better than no training at all.

Below is a link to the slides for an AltiVec training course developed by Craig Lund of Mercury Computer Systems. These slides were most recently updated in May 2001.

Apple and Motorola also have training classes. If more information becomes available on those classes it will be posted here.
